A spout pouch is a flexible package fitted with a screw-cap spout, combining the convenience of bottles with the light weight of pouches. The plastic spout allows easy pouring or sipping and can be resealed by twisting the cap. Most spout pouches are based on stand-up pouch structures, making them especially suitable for liquids and pastes.
Main Structure and Sealing Method
- Most spout pouches derive from stand-up pouches: a self-standing bag with a gusseted bottom and a plastic spout inserted into one corner or at the top center. The spout is pre-sealed to the film before the bag is formed. The body is still sealed on three sides or with a back seam, while the spout uses a threaded cap to open and close, requiring a secure connection with the pouch.

Consumers can twist off the cap to pour or squeeze out the product, then reseal it for later use, solving the problem of soft packages that cannot be closed again.
