EVAL® Film (EVOH High-Barrier Film)
Ultra-low OTR × Transparent × Chlorine-free

To meet food safety and environmental requirements, EVAL film (EVOH) is widely used in multilayer film packaging, making it an ideal barrier material for food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
It not only replaces traditional chlorine-containing films (such as PVDC, KOP, KPET) but also offers extremely low oxygen transmission, excellent transparency and eco-friendly properties, making it the first choice for premium long-shelf-life packaging.
Structure and Principle
Using EVOH as the core barrier layer in multilayer films achieves high barrier performance and packaging stability.
Common Structures
PA / EVOH / PE: used for vacuum packs and retort pouches, balancing puncture strength and heat sealability.
PP / EVOH / PP: used for nutritional drink cups and sauce packets, supporting hot-fill and microwaving.
PET / EVOH / PE: applied to ambient pouches and soy sauce packets, combining printability with gas barrier performance.
Material Features
Ultra-low oxygen transmission rate: OTR below 0.02 cc/m²·day at 23°C, 0% RH.
Long preservation and aroma retention: effectively blocks oxygen and retains aroma, extending freshness.
Oil and solvent resistance: suitable for packaging oily foods, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
High transparency and glossy appearance: suitable for display and premium visual design.
Adjustable ethylene content: allows tuning of toughness and barrier properties for different applications.
Environmentally incinerable: chlorine-free, produces no toxic gases when burned.
Food-grade safety: meets FDA and EU high standards for food contact.
Co-extrusion processing: multilayer structures such as PP/EVOH/PP enhance mechanical and sealing performance.
Microwave and metal-detection safe: no metal layer, allowing microwave heating and passing metal detectors.
